You are either replacing your old chip that went bad or upgrading to the MMM so you can make your older system compatible with a PDA AquaPalm wireless remote. If you do add the wireless PDA system, you will be able to operate all the functions of your existing system through the PDA AquaPalm except you will not be able to use the wireless remote to program your system. You will continue to use your existing hard wired remote to do that.
